CURRENT PROGRAM OFFERINGS
At South Church we encourage each other to enrich our lives by connecting in a variety of different ways, especially while we can't be together. Here are some of the ongoing programs and activities available to our adult members while we socially distance.
Do you have a program you would like to offer at South Church? Perhaps you would like to lead a discussion group, or offer a workshop of some kind? If so, the Learning Associates want to know! We invite you to fill out this form, and we will be in touch! https://forms.gle/4VwWZr7WbYk3R77PA
2026 Adult Learning Journey: New Orleans Before and After Katrina will explore post-Katrina policy impacts on the public school system, land grabs, and community displacement, and we will hold those conversations in balance with opportunities to experience the joyful, and enduring sense of community and resilience that the people of New Orleans embody. The stories of resistance that several brilliant community organizers share with us will teach volumes about what it means to fight for a better world when so extractive systems are working against you. We will travel to New Orleans March 23-29. Click HERE for additional information, and reach out to Kirsten if you are interested.
Coming of Age for Elders - As our church community continues to deepen and grow a culture that celebrates all the stages of life, we are discovering a collective longing to recognize, support, and engage with what it means to be an elder. This new program is imagined as sort of a bookend- paired with our longstanding Coming of Age program for children entering adolescence. While registration is currently closed, this program isopen to anyone who feels they are nearing elderhood– or for folks who have long felt like elders, an it will offer participants an opportunity to reflect on the wisdom of their life, to consider the changes they are experiencing as they age, and to shape a ritual that will deepen our whole community’s understanding of, and relationship with elderhood as critical and deeply valued role in our South Church community.

Drop-In Small Group Ministry will be offered on select Sundays this year, stay tuned for more details soon! This offering is similar in format to that of a covenant group, with a topic for the day and a short reading followed by opportunities for each participant to share a reflection and practice active listening for others as they share. A great opportunity to meet new people, and share in a deep conversation.
