2024 Fall Retreat
Indigenous People's Day Weekend
October 11-13, 2024
Experience a weekend of connection, exploration, & relaxation on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee
Connect
Get to know other church members and friends in a deeper, more intimate way. Make new friends, reaffirm old ones, and know ourselves better through workshops and activities. Each year welcomes a well-rounded mix of veterans and newcomers. Families with children are welcome!
Explore
This is a collaborative retreat. Participants share their interests, skills and talents. Activities and workshops are as diverse as the group itself and might include meditation, yoga or tai chi, poetry writing, improvisation, crafts, drawing & painting, tarot, and/or guided nature walks. Retreat staples that often return each year include pumpkin carving, prayer flag making, board games & puzzles, singing, music making, and a bonfire.
Relax
Geneva Point is located on the upper portion of Lake Winnipesaukee. The rustic inn has a wraparound porch with rocking chairs overlooking a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains beyond. There are hiking trails and fields to explore. With no cooking, cleaning, or chores, all you have to do is relax and enjoy. Do as much or as little as you like.
Accommodations
The Inn
The Inn features a spacious lobby, the central meeting place, where many activities are held. Guest rooms on the 2nd floor of the Inn feature 2 single beds or 1 double. We encourage sharing. Most rooms share common bathrooms with hot showers. With no central heating, just a large wood stove on the first floor, it is a lot like camping. Wheelchair accessible accommodations are available. Families will be assigned adjacent rooms. A section of the 2nd floor is reserved for families so parents can put children to bed and come downstairs for social time at night.
Chapel Line Cabins
The Chapel Line Cabins offer a quieter, more private option. They are available for groups of 2, 3 or 4 people. The cabins have a set of bunk beds and two twin beds, central heat and a bathroom with a shower. The cabins are a short walk to the Inn.
Meals
All meals from dinner on Friday through lunch on Sunday are included in the cost of registration, including vegetarian options. Please request vegan and gluten free options on your registration form and be prepared to not take them if you didn’t request them. Meals are offered buffet-style in the dining hall and there has always been plenty to eat. The committee provides snacks and beverages in the Inn. You are also allowed to bring your own snacks and beverages, including beer and wine.
