Religious Education at South Church

Unitarian Universalist Religious Education is grounded in the Seven UU Principles.  These principles promote a sense of social justice and responsibility, tolerance, identity and spiritual growth.  Our purpose is to involve children in a religious community in which they develop a spiritual sense of themselves, their connection to others and to the world as a whole.  At South Church, children & adults are encouraged to seek their own spiritual truths.

The Seven UU Principles Adapted for Children:

ONE - Each person is important,

TWO - Be kind in all you do,

THREE - We're free to learn together,

FOUR - And search for what is true,

FIVE - All people need a voice,

SIX - Build a fair and peaceful world,

SEVEN - We care for Earth's lifeboat.

South Church offers religious education divided into four groups and follows UUA age-appropriate curricula.  Our Nursery is available for infants-to-3 yrs., Preschool-Grade 6, a social group for grades 5 & 6, and Junior and Senior Youth Groups.  We also offer Our Whole Lives (OWL), a spiritual sexuality education course and Coming of Age, a rites of passage program.
